Silvia Castro

Executive Director

Silvia has more than 18 years of experience working with enterprises and organizations of all sizes. She has worked extensively with executives and entrepreneurs on a consulting basis, launched her own businesses, and worked with Fortune 500 companies and forward-looking non-profits such as the Utah Microenterprise Loan Fund and the Goldman Sachs 10K Program. Her love for entrepreneurs began in 1999 when she worked as the Assistant Director at the Women’s Business Center.

She holds an MBA with an emphasis in International Business from the University of Utah and a Bachelor’s degree in International Business from Westminster College.

Yeisy Corniel

Front Desk and Accounting Assistant

Yeto was born in the Dominican Republic where he studied social sciences at the Autonomous University of Santo Domingo. He volunteered for several non-profit organizations working for the most forgotten communities in his country, including: Plan International, The Peace Corps, and the Mariposa DR Foundation, and in the summer of 2018, he participated in a project called, "Cuentame tu Historia".


He has received trainings on intra-family violence, children's rights, and child abuse. He has always liked being linked in one way or another to organizations or foundations that work for the most disadvantaged of people. It is for this reason he has started working at the Suazo Business Center. Since he is considered such a helpful, respectful and responsible person, at Suazo, he has the opportunity to put into practice his skills and abilities to help those who need it most.

Edward Bennett

Operations Manager

As a seasoned manager, teacher, personal coach and advisor, Edward has spent over two decades in education, leadership, management and the development of systems and human resources. His professional experience is broad-based and has been designed to continually allow for his own personal growth and development, as well as that of Suazo's staff and clients.


He graduated from Westminster College of Salt Lake City with a major in Economics and a minor in Psychology. Since then, he has continued his studies focusing on Education, Political Science, and History. He has spent the majority of his career managing within therapeutic programs, academic institutions, and business and real estate companies. Outside his professional career, he has volunteered for dozens of organizations and currently sits (or has formerly sat) on the Board of Directors or Managers for several non-profit and educational organizations.

Isabel Gutiérrez

Front Desk Coordinator

Isabel was born in Mexico and, at 20 years of age, immigrated to the United States in search of opportunities to achieve her dreams and goals. She desired to allow her daughters more opportunities and better quality of life. Isabel is a person characterized by great love for her daughters, family and neighbors.  This love has manifest by helping all types of people, professionally, individually, and through nonprofit organizations.


Isabel received training in child abuse and domestic violence, with the aim of acquiring more knowledge to help people who are going through these situations. She has also worked at the YWCA helping with classes for 3-5 year old children. In addition to these jobs where she has worked to help women and children, Isabel has given service to women in need at the Cincinnati Children's Hospital, while also helping them as an interpreter from English to Spanish. For 8 years, she has been the owner of a catering company, adding to her experience in customer service.


Antonella Packard

Education Manager

Antonella Packard has served in Senior Management capacities for various international companies, among them Fortune 500 corporations. Her professional background covers a number of industries, from Banking, Construction, Manufacturing, Medical Devices, and Healthcare. She presently owns a medical device and building materials company.  Ms. Packard has a B.S. in Business and holds a Masters of Business Administration.

In 2008, Ms. Packard was named as one of Utah’s 20 Most Influential Hispanics by Business Connect Magazine. She served as the Executive Director for the Utah County Hispanic Chamber of Commerce.  In this capacity, Ms. Packard promoted workforce diversity initiatives with mainstream business and supplier diversity certifications among Latinx, multicultural, and women-owned businesses, in addition to promoting other initiatives geared toward strengthening these businesses in the region.

Ms. Packard hails from the Caribbean coast of Honduras. She lives in the picturesque city of Saratoga Springs, which lies on the shores of Utah Lake.

Daniela Sanchez

Marketing Coordinator

Daniela was born in Mexico City, Mexico, but immigrated to the United States when she was a four-year-old girl. She is currently a student of psychology, emphasizing in child development, at Brigham Young University. When she is not working for the clients of the Suazo Business Center, she works diligently as a nanny for children with special needs. She has dreams to open her own psychological development academy for children.


As well as the work she does with and for underserved members of our community, for two years, she has been the owner and operator of a photography company, giving people the ability to recreate the happiest times of their lives. Daniela started working in our center in order to help those more fortunate. Her friends, family, and professional peers, consistently characterize her as a charitable and helpful person who cares about everyone around her. All of these experiences has helped her gain the necessary skills and knowledge to further help those around her.

Alfonso Ayala

Entrepreneurs in a Digital Era and Advising

Alfonso Ayala is a co-founder of Zynergia, a Digital Marketing Agency in West Jordan, Utah. He is a seasoned marketer with 16 years of experience in the marketing and visual marketing industries. In Zynergia, his focus is on assisting businesses with their branding, graphic design, and online marketing needs. He understands the pulse of the creative industry and has helped many organizations meet their marketing and sales goals. He studied Graphic Arts at West Valley Community College in Saratoga, CA.

Alfonso was born and raised in Mexico City. He is fluent in Spanish and English and has had experience designing and marketing for general audiences, as well as for specifically Latino audiences. He lives in South Jordan, Utah with his wife Deborah a Montessori School Teacher and their three children; they enjoy going on hikes and on road trips together. Racquetball and cooking are some of his hobbies.


Ivan Díaz

Business Advisor

Ivan Díaz holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from the Universidad EAN and a Master’s Degree in Information Systems from the University of Utah. Ivan has been a teacher and advisor at the Suazo Center for over 5 years assisting students and clients to develop and manage their business plans, use computer technology (such as Microsoft Office, QuickBooks, and basic computation.), and apply principles of online marketing, pricing, and logistics to their respective businesses. He currently works as PRGM Analyst FSOP at Swire Coca-Cola, USA.
